HOW DO WE DEFINE HUMANITIES? o Those branches of knowledge that concern themselves with human beings and their culture. o Distinguished in content and method from the physical and biological sciences and, somewhat parallel to the social sciences. o Often placed in comparison to more “practical” studies, which are designed primarily to help us make a living.
