oThe nation’s black buying power rose from $304 billion in 1990 to $469 billion in 1996—up by 54.2% in six years oThe nation’s Hispanic buying power has risen even more—from $211 billion in 1990 to $348 billion in 1997—up 65.5% in seven years combined Native American, Hispanic, Asian American and Black consumers have an annual spending power of more than $1 trillion. oBy 2045, minority purchasing power may reach $4.3 trillion (1998 dollars). oMinority population may contribute 44%, or as much as 70%, of the total increase of purchasing power from 2000 to Projected Minority Purchasing Power Source: Bureau of Economic Analysis News Release: Personal Income and Outlays: January 2000 (Trillions of dollars)
