Priority 1: Promoting Confidence in a new NHS Brand and Roles Who is Responsible: James Baker and Alex Wells, Sue Watson Action StepsNotes  Scope what work is currently being undertaken regarding Values at local, regional and national level and how this could fit into the recruitment process Regional Values - Are you:- Caring/A good communicator/ Compassionate/Courageous/ able to make a commitment? If you are, we can develop you into a competent caring professional. Benefits (see sheet) Fiona Lord at HENW is developing tools to assess values and behaviours. Priority 2: Encouraging the right young people into the NHS Who is responsible: Andy Morris/Sallie Kelsey Health Education NW Action StepsNotes  Scope work experience policies and how organisations currently engage with year olds  Equality of access  Promotion  Career Counsellors  Support cared for children  Year 9 when choosing options  1 week shadowing at age 17  What already exists at regional level around career options in the NHS and work with schools- Needs to be interaction with schools/colleges  NHS Leadership Academy  Joan Holcroft – Skills for Health, Colleges and Schools, Ambassador for Health, Derby Council (reduced resources). Care Ambassador Scheme.  Work experience links/visits to school  Partnership event with education leads- Resulting in the production of suitable materials/practical skills  Link with clinical staff to produce the suitable materials and practical skills  Scope use of term time youth volunteers

Priority 3: Influence work based and vocational training to continue to grow your own workforce Who is responsible: Sue Watson / Alison Westwood Action StepsNotes  Scope pathways and entry requirements to include Assistant Practitioners.  To find out entry requirements at local/regional HEIs  Library of resources to tap into from other providers  Assistant Practitioners and Advanced Case Studies (14 + another 10)  Leadership Academy - talent spotting.  Talent leads into skill mix and workforce planning  Understanding what they offer  Vocational Awards Apprenticeships Bands  Support for career progression.  What are other people doing?

Where they work well but also where they don’t across Cheshire and Merseyside.  Laura Dunaway to share existing Case Studies and case study template.
