The Hands Of God Isa. 41:13

A Place Of Majesty And Power 2 Chron. 20:6 Hab. 3:3-4 Isa. 40:12; 48:13 Psa. 89:1-3 Exo. 15:6 Your right hand, O LORD, is majestic in power, Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy. I will sing of the lovingkindness of the LORD forever; To all generations I will make known Your faithfulness with my mouth. 2 For I have said, "Lovingkindness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.“ 3 I have made a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to David My servant, Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, And marked off the heavens by the span, And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure, And weighed the mountains in a balance And the hills in a pair of scales? Surely My hand founded the earth, And My right hand spread out the heavens; When I call to them, they stand together. God comes from Teman, And the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendor covers the heavens, And the earth is full of His praise. 4 His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His power. and he said, "O LORD, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.

A Place Of Majesty And Power Can a God With that kind of power make a difference in my life? God is concerned about His creation - 1 Pet. 5:6-7 We can put our trust in God - Psa 73:25-28

Place Of Loving Intervention Psa. 18:16-17; 18:35-36; 37: He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. 17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your right hand upholds me; And Your gentleness makes me great. 36 You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped. The steps of a man are established by the LORD, And He delights in his way. 24 When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.

Place Of Loving Intervention Even when we are not looking for God's help, His hand is outstretched for us - 1 Jn 4:19; Rom 5:6-11

Place Of Loving Intervention We can never go beyond the reach of the Father's loving outstretched hand - Psa 139:9- 10; Isa. 59:1

Place Of Loving Intervention Fear (short-sightedness) makes us want complete control, to refuse to "wait on Jehovah", to take things into our own hands. Reality always includes God and His provision and watchful care - Psa 34

Place Of Safety Jn. 10:18-30 Psa. 27 No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father." 19 A division occurred again among the Jews because of these words. 20 Many of them were saying, "He has a demon and is insane. Why do you listen to Him?" 21 Others were saying, "These are not the sayings of one demon-possessed. A demon cannot open the eyes of the blind, can he?" 22 At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; 23 it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon. 24 The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." 25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. 26 But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."

Place Of Safety We have the assurance of God's continued love and care He will never fair nor forsake us - Heb. 6:13-20; 13:5-6; Isa. 14:24-27

Place Of Safety We need to keep praying and waiting - Lk 18:1 & Isa 30:18; 40:31 Sometimes we want to run away from everything and hide. God says "Go ahead, but hide in Me" - Psa 17:8; 27:5; 143:9

Place Of Discipline Being in the safety of God's loving hands does not mean that harm will never befall us. Real life means that bad things happen to good people, even to people who pray and obey - Job 2:10

Place Of Discipline As long as we live here, trouble and calamity will be a part of our lives. We cannot escape it.

Place Of Discipline Sometimes trouble and hardship is an indication that God's disciplining hand is on our lives - Psa 32:3-5; 38:1ff & 39:10-11

Place Of Discipline The "pressures of life" may be the squeeze of God's hand as He is shaping and molding me - Isa 64:8

Place Of Fulfilment 2 Chron 6:15 1 Chron. 29:12 Psa. 145:15-16 The eyes of all look to You, And You give them their food in due time. 16 You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. who has kept with Your servant David, my father, that which You have promised him; indeed You have spoken with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.

Place Of Fulfilment In God's hands we can find peace and satisfaction that no other can give Because of His power, moved by His love, He can fulfill His promises, all of His promises

Place Of Fulfilment Lam 3:19-27 How do I leave things in God's hands? Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness. 20 Surely my soul remembers And is bowed down within me. 21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. 26 It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the LORD. 27 It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.
