1 Context Updates Same As You Seminal publication, launched in 2000 Generational shift in services, support and attitudes

2 What does the Keys to Life say? New 10 year strategy to drive forward change 52 recommendations across 162 pages! 3 key themes: Human Rights Health Collaboration

3 Human Rights 2 x recommendations in the Keys to Life All public bodies to carry out equality impact assessments by June 2014 Localities promote participation of people with learning disabilities in decision that affect them; and promote their rights.

4 40% recommendations on Health Scottish Learning Disability Observatory at Glasgow University Health screening programme for people with learning disabilities Access to healthy lifestyles – making good choices Access to universal services; communicating worries/symptoms

5 Collaboration Of all 52 recommendations, only one is solely for local authorities The rest involve varying degrees of participation and working with other agencies.
