3000 B.C. Around 3000BC walled towns and villages were built in Egypt. The first buildings were made of mud brick.

2500 B.C. Around 2500BC Egyptians built the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid at Giza. 2500BC to 2000BC was the 'Old Kingdom' period.

Valley of the Kings Decorations in the tombs vary greatly. Usually the sacred texts cover the walls and sarcophagus, collectively known as the 'Books of the Dead'. The text, was intended to aid the deceased, on his journey through the netherworld.

1325 B.C. Around 1325BC, King Tutankhamen was buried in the Valley of the Kings. In 1922 his tomb was discovered.

Tut is prepared for CT scanning in a specially equipped van on January 5, Detailed scans found no physical evidence of murder, Hawass said afterwards. But the scans did reveal unusual features, including a broken leg, which some experts think may have led to the boy king's death.

Forensic sculptor Elisabeth Daynès used tissue-depth information to lay clay over plastic skull models. She then added layers of fleshlike silicone, estimating the king’s eyebrow thickness and approximate shape and size of the nose, lips, and ears.
