A Brief History of Leisure Sports and Entertainment are leisure activities for the purpose of enjoyment. Consumers need free time and discretionary income

A Brief History of Leisure Used to be pastimes just for the wealthy - needed time and money available. Labor unions fought for and won higher wages, better working conditions, and better working hours.

Entertainment for Everyone The creation of public transportation got the people to the venues Thomas Edison invented the kinetoscope – a device for viewing moving pictures Other inventors – Lumiere brothers and George Eastman – contributed to motion picture technology
