The Hebrews moved to Egypt They lived happily in Egypt The Pharoah refused to let them go The New Pharaoh made them slaves God did not want his people being hurt God sent ten plagues After a meal the Hebrews escaped The Egyptians followed the Hebrews

 What are the 10 commandments?  How can we translate them into modern day language?  Consider why it is sometimes difficult to keep to these rules

Moses parts the Red Sea Moses is given the Ten Commandments Moses dies before reaching Canaan

At Mount Sinai God gives the Ten Commandments to Moses as a kind of basic constitution or charter for Israel His brother Aaron, who had clearly been left in charge, made a golden calf to symbolize God's presence. They want to worship the calf, instead of God. The new relationship between God and Israel almost comes to an end and when Moses comes down from the mountain he smashes the stone tablets which contain the Ten Commandments. co m/watch?v=qTFz_ ATVXhQ

 God made an agreement (Covenant) with Moses.  God gave Moses rules / Commandments for the Israelites to follow.  God agreed that if these rules were followed God would stay with them. m/watch?v=qTFz_ATVXh Q

After this, pick one commandment which you think would be difficult to follow and give your reasons. Then shade in the tablet of stone.

Task Rewrite the Ten Commandments so that they could be understood by someone younger than you. Neatly do this onto your tablet of stone template. After this, pick one commandment which you think would be difficult to follow and give your reasons.

For homework Look through any national or local newspapers and look for 3 newspaper stories which deal with any 3 of the Ten Commandments. Ask permission to cut these out and bring them to the next lesson. Paste them on paper or card if you want.
