True Fellowship Is Created by the Holy Spirit Philippians 2:1, 2 (NASB) Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 1
True Fellowship Is Created by the Holy Spirit 1Corinthians 12:13, 14 (NASB) For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. 2
True Fellowship Means Obeying the Law of Christ Galatians 6:2 (NASB) Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 1John 3:23 (NASB) This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 1John 4:21 (NASB) And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. 3
True Fellowship Means Separating From Darkness 2Corinthians 6:14 (NASB) Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Acts 2:40 (NASB) And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 4
Called Into True Fellowship 1Corinthians 1:8, 9 (NASB) who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 5
Fellowship With Christ and One Another 1Corinthians 10:16, 17 (NASB) Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread. 6
Fellowship With Christ Rules out Idolatry 1Corinthians 10:18, 19 (NASB) Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar? What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 7
Fellowship With Christ Is Incompatible With Fellowship With Demons 1Corinthians 10:20, 21 (NASB) No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 8
We Must Guard the Integrity of Our Relationship With God 1Corinthians 10:22 (NASB) Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than He, are we? 9
