Major in Applied Health Sciences The differences between the Applied Health Sciences major and the current major in Health Sciences are three fold; 1. The core set of courses differs from the current, traditional core seen in our programs.

Cont. 2. The Applied Health Sciences major will be preparing the student for a broad based undergraduate degree, completing all their general education at Oakland University;

Cont. 3. Nearly all credits earned as part of the Associate’s degree from MCC will be utilized; leading to a vocation after receiving their Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences with a major in Applied Health Sciences. 3. Nearly all credits earned as part of the Associate’s degree from MCC will be utilized; leading to a vocation after receiving their Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences with a major in Applied Health Sciences.

Budget Implications: In addition to normal operating expenses, a new ½ clerical position is budgeted beginning in the first year. No additional faculty positions will be required until the third year, with the hiring of a new faculty position. This new major with its conservative budget will generate a positive net income starting in its first year and a profit through the first five years. Major in Applied Health Sciences
