THE CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION] [ Isaiah 40:6-7; 2 Corinthians 4:8,9,16; John 11:25-26 ] All of us are like grass, AND OUR GLORY IS LIKE THE FLOWER OF THE FIELD; The grass withers, and the flowers fall, BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD STANDS FOREVER.
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; WE ARE PERPLEXED BUT NOT DRIVEN TO DESPAIR; We are persecuted but not abandoned; WE ARE STRUCK DOWN BUT NOT DESTROYED;
Our physical nature is wasting away, BUT OUR SPIRITUAL NATURE IS BEING RENEWED. Jesus said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life; HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME, THOUGH HE DIES PHYSICALLY, Yet shall he live spiritually; WHOEVER LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE.”

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON 1 John 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from Jesus and declare to you: It is that God is light and in Him there is absolutely no darkness! And so if we walk in the light as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, God’s son, purifies us from all our sins.
THE SONG OF PREPARATION #224 ‘WE HAVE COME INTO HIS HOUSE’
(1) We have come into His house and gathered in His name to worship Him. We have come into His house and gathered in His name to worship Christ the Lord Worship Him, Christ the Lord.
(2) Let’s forget about ourselves and magnify His name and worship Him. Let’s forget about ourselves and magnify His name and worship Christ the Lord. Worship Him, Christ the Lord.
A TIME OF SHARING WITH GOD’S CHILDREN OF ALL AGES
THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURE MATTHEW 6:25-34 (The words of Jesus) Read by Elder Neil VanDerJagt, CPA I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; They do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?‘ or 'What shall we drink?‘ or 'What shall we wear?'
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek you first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
JESUS IS ALL THE WORLD TO ME #512 Jesus is all the world to me, My life, my joy, my all; He is my strength from day to day, Without Him I would fall. When I am sad, to Him I go, No other one can cheer me so; When I am sad, He makes me glad, He’s my Friend.
(2) Jesus is all the world to me, My Friend in trials sore; I go to Him for blessings, and He gives them o’er and o’er. He sends the sunshine and the rain, He sends the harvest’s golden grain; Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain, He’s my Friend.
(3) Jesus is all the world to me, And true to Him I’ll be; Oh, how could I this Friend deny, When He’s so true to me? Following Him I know I’m right, He watches o’er me day and night; Following Him by day and night, He’s my Friend.
(4) Jesus is all the world to me, I want no better Friend; I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when Life’s fleeting days shall end. Beautiful life with such a Friend, Beautiful life that has no end; Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend.
THE SERMON THE OBJECT OF OUR FOCUS Romans 8:12-17 Bayshore Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein
(1) FOCUS ON TODAY, NOT TOMORROW OR YESTERDAY.
ISAIAH 43:18: ‘Forget the former things, and do not dwell on the past.’ PHILIPPIANS 3:13: ‘One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’
YESTERDAY is a canceled check; TOMORROW is a promissory note; TODAY is ready cash so use it wisely.
(2) FOCUS ON THE THINGS YOU CAN CONTROL, WITH GOD’S HELP, RATHER THAN ON THE THINGS YOU CAN'T CONTROL.
(3) CHANGE YOUR FOCUS FROM THE UNWARRANTED FEARS YOU MAY BE HARBORING INSIDE TO FOCUSING ON GOD WHO HOLDS YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND.
“As the Mud Hen secretly builds on the watery sod, Behold, I will build me a nest on the greatness of God.”
IN SUMMARY... FOCUS ON TODAY... FOCUS ON THE THINGS WE CAN CONTROL WITH GOD’S HELP FOCUS ON GOD WHO HOLDS US SECURE IN HIS PRESENCE.

THE CLOSING HYMN #624 His Eye Is On The Sparrow
(1a) Why should I be discouraged? Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart be lonely? And long for heav’n and home When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
(1b) I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
(2a) “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender words I hear; And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubt and fear. Tho’ by the path He leadeth But one step I may see: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
(2b) I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
(3a) Whenever I am tempted, Whenever clouds arise, When songs give way to sighing, When hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him From care He sets me free: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
(3b) I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
