Definitions Rural communities are places where there is open areas, such as fields, forests, and few buildings. Most of the buildings in rural communities are houses and possibly some farms. Suburban communities are where they are houses and few businesses. Suburban communities are towns and neighborhoods with many houses. Evaluation Please answer the following questions on lined paper. What kind of a community do you live in? What is the difference between a rural community and an urban community? How are they the same? If you were able to move to another community, would it be a move to a rural, suburban or urban community?

Conclusion If you could choose another community to live in, which would it be?___________________ Why would you like to live there?___________________________________ ________________________________________ _______________________________ Is that different then the community you live in now?______________ If so, how is it different?________________________________ __________________________________

Conclusion You have done a fine job identifying your community. You have learned about different communities. You have compared your community to another community and selected which one you would like to live in. Finally, think about the sounds you will hear in your community. Will there be traffic sounds, people sounds, or nature sounds?
