Remember… ELEMENTS are pure substances made of the same atom throughout. – Ex: Carbon, Aluminum, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Helium, Magnesium, Gold, Silver, etc. (92 of them) – They are all on the periodic table.

Compounds A substance formed from two or more different elements that are chemically combined (bonded) The elements lose their individual chemical properties and the compound has new properties. Cannot be easily separated
