A CADEMIC C OACHING Open to all PSU students not in FYE (University Success does this) Graduate student interns as coaches Flexible number of appointments/content of sessions Certify through College Reading & Learning Association Values this supports: Thinking critically, becoming an active learner, respectful discourse from diverse perspectives, self empowerment, healthy scholarship, ethos of care Campus Learning Outcomes addressed: Creative and critical thinking, communication, diversity, ethics and social responsibility, engagement One measurable learning outcome: Communication – Coaches will incorporate at least 3 communication skills in their sessions with students. Supervisor’s observations and self- reflections will verify this. 2

This will be evaluated using public speaking rubrics. 3
