Math Binder Setup

What will this be used for? The Binder will house the Bellwork assignments, Vocabulary, and notes that we cover over the semester. This is meant to be a resource for you and will be graded. It is important to note that you will have an opportunity to have access to your binders during test and quizzes*. The more you put into this resource the more you will have available to you. *This is contingent upon behavior*

How is it graded? The binder will be compared against Mr. Platt’s Master binder. The Master is available for any student to look at and compare at any appropriate time. The notebook will be evaluated on:  Organization  Vocabulary  Up to date Bellwork  Complete notes  Up to date assignments

Cover Name Mr. Platt 6 th Grade Math Hour Year

Tabs 1. Bellwork 2. Vocabulary 3. Order of Operations and Expressions 4. Decimals, Fractions, and Percents 5. Solving Equations, and Integers 6. Rates, Ratios, and Proportions 7. Coordinate Plane and Geometry 8. Assignments

Bellwork Every day as you enter listed on the board will be a question or problem that you are to solve immediately as class begins. Under this tab you will have a monthly Bellwork form. You are responsible for keeping this up to date, keeping track of this form, handing it in at the end of the month, and getting a new one at the beginning of the month.

Vocabulary Whenever we begin a new section there will be new vocabulary terms. During class we will go over these terms and you will need to have a vocabulary form and fill out each section accordingly. The completed form must go under the vocabulary tab in the binder.

Notes tabs Order of Operations Decimals, Fractions, and Percents Solving Equations, and Integers Rates, Ratios, and Proportions Coordinate Plane and Geometry

Notes tabs Under these tabs we will keep the notes we take. These notes must remain in order and complete. Again you will be given the opportunity to use your notes on tests and quizzes.

Assignments Under this tab we will keep the current assignments that have not been turned in and those that Mr. Platt as indicated must stay under this tab.
