PERSONAL READING PROCEDURE By: Wyatt Dean Deepe

READING ROLES Connector Questioner Illustrator Passage Master

CONNECTOR The connectors job is to find connections between what you are reading and you, between what you are reading and the wider world, and between what you have read and what you are reading.

QUESTIONER The questioners job is to write down a few questions that you have about what you are reading. Some questions could be like, why is this happening, what is this word.

ILLUSTRATOR As the illustrator you make pictures as you read

PASSAGE MASTER You locate special things in the text.

P2R Preview- look at headings, look over pictures. Read Actively- Don’t take notes while reading wait till the end. Review- Now think about what you just read. JOT down a summary.

BASICS Have energy while energy. Ask the teacher for help. If its not making sense read it out loud and relate it to something you like. Try to keep notes in your own words. Look up words in the dictionary if you don’t know them, When teachers tell you to read something it most likely means its valuable to you.

BEFORE READING Before reading I do some things like, look at headings, look a the pictures or graphs, and I also look at section titles. I also see what background info I have.

DURING READING During reading I write down vocabulary words, I take notes when I read, I look at pictures and graphs as well.

AFTER READING I now go back and read my notes and see if that is what I want or to see if I have all the vocabulary words.

LEARNING STYLES Visual Naturalistic Interpersonal Logical-Mathematics

VISUAL LEARNERS LIKE TO SEE PICTURES, COLORS AND VIDEOS THEY DON’T WANT TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE I am a visual learner. I look at pictures, and I like to color code things. I also like to see videos to do something instead of telling me how to do It so I know how it look when I do that something. While I preview I look at pictures and graphs.

NATURALISTIC LEARNERS- INVESTIGATE THE NATURAL WORLD. I like to work with plants or animals. I also empathize with animals. When I'm reading I can relate to things about nature if I don’t get what I'm reading.

INTERPERSONAL LEARNER LIKE TO SOCIALIZE Interpersonal Learner is understanding and in tune with the people around you and their motives, emotions, perspectives, and moods. I like to socialize with others about my notes.

LOGICAL- MATHEMATICS LEARNERS These leaners possess the ability to understand complex problems, both logical and math. This intelligence asks questions, finds solutions, and reflects on the problem-solving process. I think logically when I take notes
