Regions of Canada

 A region is an area that shares certain features or characteristics.  Canada is made up of many characteristics

Single Factor Region:  A region based on a single characteristic, such as climate.  Climate is a single factor but it influences  Soil type  Agriculture  Population patterns, etc….

Multi-factor Region:  These are regions that share many characteristics

Regional Perspective  Regional differences across Canada seldom affect us personally.  It is when we have contact with another region do we become aware of some of our regional differences.  Time of day (time zone)  Weather  Dialect – across the line, off island, down east, out west
