It is evening and very hot. The room is tiny and cramped, with few conveniences. This makes the jurors feel tired, cranky and tense.

Why does eleven question seven so closely after he changes his vote?

Because he doesn’t believe that he has changed it because he actually thinks the defendant is not guilty. He fears that he changed it just so he can go home, and he thinks it is wrong to toy with a man’s (the defendant’s) life in this way
