Green School

Our Intentions Hinson Middle School is working together to create a series of “green school” models and projects. We are making a stand to create a greener world. Creating a green school is an easy, inspiring way to make the world a greener place. By just recycling or planting, you can make a huge difference in your environment.

Did you know… America has the highest Carbon Footprint in the entire world. A carbon footprint is the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere each year. By creating green schools all over the country, we can help to reduce our carbon footprint.

Going Green “Going Green” is the newest craze sweeping the nation. Going green is really easy, and there are lots of things that you can do to help make a difference in your community. For instance, recycling can make a huge difference even though it may not seem like it.

Recycling Can: Steel Aluminum cans Cardboard Paper Plastic Bottles Cannot: Styrofoam Ceramics Fabrics Alkaline batteries Certain metals Computers & electronics There are a lot of ways to help in your community. One is by recycling. But only certain things are recyclable. Here are some things that can be recycled and some that cannot.

Planting Planting is an easy way to create a cleaner environment and atmosphere. All you need to plant is soil, water, sunlight, a seed and a pot. Not only do the plants look good, but they also help to cleanse the air and create more oxygen.

Creating a Green School  Our project is about creating a green school. Creating a green school is easy. You just have to recycle (previous slide) and help to clean up the earth around your school. There are lots of different “green” items that can help make the world a better, cleaner place.

What you can do to help  There are lots of things that you can do to turn your school into a green school. For instance, start by getting recycling bins and convince people to recycle. Or, you can start by planting things in a greenhouse or around the school (previous slides).

So, why not?  So, why not help to make the world a better place? It’s easy to do, and you’ll help your school in the process. Help to clean up the earth. Create a green school!
