+ Some comments: About my village The GoodThe Bad A 'small' friendly village with a community spirit prospect of building in the area is a massive threat to disturb the village and overpopulate it really like Hartley village great place to live we could have better amenities. love living herepoor public transport village has a real sense of communitypoor parking, street road surface small school, bad mobile reception friendly, clean no trouble.feel the scrap yard and other businesses reflect way into village untidy good community feel, quiet and good first school. lost point for dog fouling pleasant, quiet village.much more going on when it was a mining village still feel like a village but are concerned that the continuous housing developments will end this Lovely community feel with people living here for years and years overspill parking and lack of local facilities/transport links community spirit and size - park could do with some attention though

+ How much of a problem are the following issues in your village? 1 = not a problem, 5 = major problem

+ Some comments about problems state of roads. parking on double row around the units. traffic is too fast through centre the nature area by the brambles is a mess with dog fouling… The sports football field is also littered with dog faeces. a warden or CCTV as deterrent would come in handy. All the cars on the main street parking inadequate bus service. insufficient school places, no employment opportunities. abysmal road network and dangerously narrow paths on st Michaels ave. litter is a problem at the top of double row caused by the businesses trading there. they should be made to clean it up too many new homes in danger of not being a village

+ Best/worst thing about New Hartley Common ‘best thing’ commentsCommon ‘worst thing’ comments Peaceful and tranquil with a good community spirit. The likes of Barretts trying to destroy the community pleasant area. friendly residentsparking very quiet walks. plenty of wildlife lack of shops community activities lack of public transport well presented and keptDog fouling and litter The fact that it is a small and friendly village makes it a great place to live. possibility of development which the village cannot sustain. access to school.
