Pathway to Articulation

Review Pre-Requisite Requirements 55 credits in either healthcare or IT-specific coursework as approved by the program Science – 10 credits (one lab course and one life science) English Composition I – 5 credits College level math – 5 credits – Statistics Technical Writing/Research Writing – 5 credits Social Science – 5 credits (either social science or humanities must be a communication course) Humanities – 5 credits (either social science or humanities must be a communication course)

Current Student Population Target student audience – Already have associate of applied science (AAS) in healthcare or IT-related fields – Does this limit advancement options? BAS considered a 2+ 2 degree – Allows those with AAS to build on prior education and applied training However………

Current Student Population BC is not limited to accepting only AAS graduates Students who have met the 90 credits of pre- requisite coursework are eligible to apply

Transfer Degree Option Nearly all community colleges have this option Designed to ease the transition to four-year colleges and universities Creation of specialized transfer degree option can create pathway for students – Satisfies the pre-requisites for the Healthcare IT BAS program

Articulation in Progress Clark College – Major Related Programs (MRP) degrees – Modified to prepare students for direct transfer to a given major

Getting Started Refer to pre-requisites for entry into the BAS program at Bellevue College Identify applicable transferable courses Submit this information to Dr. Charney for review – May be asked to provide course outlines, objectives and syllabi Meet with BAS program faculty and staff to finalize course equivalency guide (can be done via web conferencing)
