Our primary identity is with the Body of Christ not our nation.

We seek to live in the world without conforming to the powers of evil, witnessing to God’s grace by serving others, caring for creation, and inviting all people to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Our primary identity is with the Body of Christ not our nation. Local churches should be connected to churches in other nations. Christian community crosses ethnicity, race, and language. Christian community is not segregated by class or gender.

Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mathew 20:25-29
