 Banner HR is CHANGE!  Banner HR is not HRS  Some processes going away  New processes to learn  Keep an open mind about new processes and ideas THINGS NOT TO FORGET

NEW IMPLEMENTATION DATE  First pay date after July 1, 2016  Port HRS to Banner HR 4 – 6 weeks prior to that  HRS offline with close of FY 2016 business  Port of balances to Banner after HRS closes  Web Time Entry (WTE) open June 19(?), 2016  Leave Reports and Leave Requests - ????

WHAT’S GONE  Online EA System  UTx, UCx, USx HRS Screens  No ENPs processed after 1R120  Leave System  TimePro – except for areas using input devices?  Trial Calculations

WHAT’S NEW  Web-based application  Web Time Entry (WTE)  Leave Reports  Leave Requests  Electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAFs)

GENERAL PERSON  Shared across all data implementations Student (eight instances), Finance, HR (five instances)  At time of entry there is no system affiliation  Becomes a student, employee or vendor when a key form is entered in a system. For HR it is PEAEMPL.  Multiple data ‘types’ for addresses and telephone numbers. Specific ones procedurally assigned to different systems.

 Screens – 011, 016, L16, M63, L63 Forms – PEAEMPL, NBAPOSN, NBAPBUD, NBAJOBS  Assignments keyed by Job Code and Occurrence Jobs keyed by position and suffix Primary, Secondary, Overload  Job Codes 1 character (21) EClasses 2 characters (91)  Assignments and Positions bound by FY Jobs and Positions continue Add effective dates for changes BANNER HR CHANGES

 Position numbers still 6 characters  HRS Position numbers ported to Banner  New Position numbers in Banner will have no predefined meaning and be assigned in reverse order Won’t need a new position number if position changes  Chairs, Heads, Interim, etc., additives maintain in separate position? Need to maintain responsibilities by position  Pooled Positions for Temporary and Student Employees BANNER HR POSITIONS

BANNER HR DISTRIBUTION  Banner HR will use Chart ‘X’  Base Banner can’t cross Charts (COA) in a position  Actual Chart will be in the Location column  FOAPAL on the position is used for:  Budgeting  Default distribution for the job  Is not effective dated  Labor Distribution is determined by the FOAPAL on the job

 Routing Queues – identifying approvers Will be the most time consuming effort  Four different ways to set up Routing Queues Reports To By Organization By Position (how to pool positions?) By Job (position and suffix)  Approvers can, and should, assign Proxies BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

 Timesheets and Leave Reports are used to report current period time and leave  Timesheets for positive time employees  Leave Reports for exception time employees  Leave Requests are used for future periods  When the Leave Request time period becomes the current period, the Leave Requested automatically populates the current period Timesheet or Leave Report. BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

 Timesheets, Leave Reports, and Leave Requests are automatically created for employees when the employee first accesses that period.  Superusers can also cause the form to be created  A Timesheet, Leave Report or Leave Request form will not generate if there is a ‘broken’ approval queue.  Employees encouraged to open applicable form within the first few days of the period. BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE

 Once the timesheet is submitted by the employee and approved by the approver, the time is available to be included in a payroll calculation.  Leave Accrued is added to leave balances as part of the payroll calculation  Leave Taken is subtracted from the leave balances as part of the payroll calculation  Once a leave report is submitted by the employee and approved by the approver, leave is immediately deducted from leave balances.  Leave Accrued is added to leave balances as part of the payroll calculation BANNER HR WEB TIME AND LEAVE
