DPS Bilingual Department Mission Statement To support schools in closing the achievement gap by ensuring grade level proficiency for all English language learners through the continued development of L1 & L2.

Strategic Goal #2 All DPS bilingual programs will meet PED compliance. regulations. Strategic Goal #1 All DPS schools’ ELL subgroup will…… A. make progress in learning English-25% as measured by NMELPA B. attain English proficiency-30% as measured by NMELPA C. achieve academic proficiency (AYP) as measured by NMSBA D.become bilingual/biliterate in L1 & L2 as measured by NMELPA & Woodcock Munoz. E. meet academic standards & benchmarks in all subject areas as measured by MAPS/course grades.
