Thunderstorms

What is a thunderstorm? A thunderstorm is a storm with lightning and thunder. Lightning is a bright flash of electricity made by a thunderstorm. Every thunderstorm has lightning.

Thunder is caused by lightning. We see lightning before we hear thunder because light travels faster than sound. ySw ySw

What is hail? Hail are pieces of ice falling from the sky. They sometimes fall during thunderstorms.

When do thunderstorms happen? Can happen all year At any time of day or night Most likely to happen during spring and summer months Most likely to happen during afternoon and evening hours
