FRESHMAN: Class of 2019

 Work History: TDCJ, Trucking, Teaching  Family History  Education: Sam Houston State University  What I like to do  Outdoors -- Travel  The Arts -- and of course  Sports HISTORY!!  Flying  Contact me:

 Be on time  Be prepared  Be respectful to yourself, each other, and to your instructor  Perspective

 The class room door will be closed when the second bell sounds. If you have to knock on the door then you are tardy. You may put your book bag down, take something with your name on it and proceed to the front office for your tardy pass. If there is a legitimate excuse administration will make that decision.  No excuses. Period.

 All supplies needed includes: pen (blue or black ink only) pencil, paper, and textbook.  Have homework ready to turn in: 1day late no higher than 70, 2 days late 60 after two days not accepted  Have a positive attitude and be ready to learn  Bring Spirals!!!

 Pen (blue or black ink only)  Pencil #2 for tests  Three subject notebook dedicated to Geography  Text and other materials assigned  USB Data stick

 Due at the beginning of class  One day late 70 (turn something in!)  Your responsibility to ask for make up work  Reading assignments may (WH WILL!) be quizzed  Make up work per handbook policy  If you know you will miss class let me know

 Bring a three subject spiral dedicated strictly to Geography  It will be your responsibility to keep up with it, some daily and major grades based on this spiral  Notebook grade- major grade once a six weeks or as I decide  Daily grades as I decide  Purpose of the spiral

 Respect yourself-  Self respect –show pride in your dress, Dress code will be enforced.  Carry yourself with pride and dignity- it creates the basis on how others see you.  Respect for others begins with respecting yourself

 Respect others  Respecting others is imperative to creating a harmonious society. (integrity, lying, etc.)  Respect the property of the school and others. Automatic referral  Respect others right to individualism, education, and speech (no interrupting)

 Respect your school (we are the school, to put it down is to put down me, your fellow students, and the administration)  Respect your teacher (Mr. Barnes) -My privacy (Personal items) -My space (No one behind my desk) -My property (stealing) -The classroom (pick up all trash)

 School rules will be followed as outlined in student handbook  During announcements/ pledge / moment of silence –no talking be respectful  Stand and face flag

 Perspective- if your actions are less than they should be then you may be asked to get a new perspective.  This should be a warning to you that you have exceeded acceptable limits and that more severe discipline is imminent  Next step detention, referral, coach.

 All papers must be turned in with the following info in order to receive grades:  Full name  Date  Subject  Assignment title I WON’T TRY TO GUESS Who YOU ARE!!  Look for grading scale in handbook

 Grade make up: Tests 80 Pre-AP% Daily Pre- AP 20%  WH Major: 90% Daily 10%  Daily grades will be announced  I will try to post grades often- you will know if you are behind  Requests to view grade only taken before or after school. Use the access via internet.  One major grade per six weeks may be based on class rules ie. bringing materials such as pens, paper, text-books, and more than two bathroom break per six weeks. Minus five points per each issue.

 My responsibilities are wherever I am… Room, Hall, bathroom etc.  Foul language = referral (possible fine)  No food or drink in the classroom  Horseplay leads to anger – it won’t be tolerated. (fighting = assault/fine)  Disrupting class = referral  My space is mine, your space is yours, our space is ours

 Desks stay as arranged unless otherwise directed, if you are directed to move the desks they must go back to their original configuration before I dismiss.  When moving as a class to other areas we will be quiet and stay together as a group  Work table: hand-outs, extra copies, work return  Fire drills  Check board for days work  I dismiss at the end of class. Stay seated until bell rings.
