 Do you think teenagers are concerned with contracting an STI? Why or Why not?

 You will have 2 minutes to shake as many people’s hand as you can. Also when shake your classmates hands introduce your self by saying,” hi I am (say your name).

 STIs are diseases spread primarily by close sexual contact or sexual intercourse.  Sexually Transmitted Infections are just a new term that is used, it is the same as STD.

 It helps a person be able to discuss STI with a boyfriend or girlfriend  Untreated STI can jeopardize a persons health and future ability to have children  It help’s you to take care of your own body.

 Viral: if a virus causes a disease it is possible for it to remain “inactive” for a period (no symptoms)  Viral can be treated but NOT cured!  You will have it for life!!  Genital warts (HPV), HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C and genital herpes

 If bacteria or parasitic causes the disease it needs to be treated with antibiotics or antimicrobial medication.  Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis, pubic lice, scabies and vaginitis.

 Please assess the severity of risk for each card and arrange them in a continuum of risk, from most risky to least risky.

 What can a person do to reduce his/her risk for STI/HIV?  What should a person who has engaged in risky behavior do?

 Pat and Chris have been dating for two months. Sometimes they have sex. Pat suspects that Chris is having sex with other partners, but isn’t sure.  What should Pat do?

 Mark just learned that he has an STI. He wants to tell his partner himself, but is afraid of what his partner will think.  What should Mark do?

 Sarah’s boyfriend Brian recently noticed an unusual discharge from his penis. When he got tested, the results showed that he had gonorrhea. He accused Sarah of giving it to him, since he’d been faithful to Sarah. Sarah has had sex with other partners, but doesn’t have symptoms. Brian would like Sarah to get tested, but Sarah doesn’t want to.  What should Brian do?
