Rebuilding London Mark Oglesby Max Abraham Jake Goldsmith Claire Sanders

Topography London is located in a large green belt It’s landscape is mostly plains with a few hilly expanses The River Thames dominates most of the central London landscape

Climate and Biome London’s climate is temperate, with four distinct seasons. It’s temperatures can get as high as 70 degrees in July and as low 40 degrees in January London’s biome is dominated by temperate deciduous forest.

Lobelia We chose Lobelia as our plant. Lobelia is a common plant that grows through cracks in the cement on the streets and sidewalks of London. Lobelia is a resilient, tough plant and those are the traits we want to embody rebuilding our city.

Lobelia We chose Lobelia as our plant. Lobelia is a common plant that grows through cracks in the cement on the streets and sidewalks of London. Lobelia is a resilient, tough plant and those are the traits we want to embody rebuilding our city.

Peregrine Falcon The Peregrine Falcon is a species of falcon found commonly around London It is a multi-faceted species It’s hunting ranges can vary from the Arctic Tundra to the tropics As a rebuilt city, we want to be multi faceted and diversified in our city utilities and survival styles.

Food, Energy, Water London will have large protected areas in the city reserved strictly for growing food. London will be self sufficient in it’s food needs. London will have vast rain water collection networks as well as using the River Thames’s water supply. Our city will install a hydrologic dam on the Thames, as well as solar panels and wind turbines throughout the city.

Waste We will enforce strict recycling mandates. The highest possible percentage of recyclable waste will be recycled. Excess waste will be burned, and energy from which will go back towards the city’s power grid. There will be waste reduction tax incentives that encourage each family to produce less waste and reuse as much as possible

Transportation Electric cars will be strongly encouraged. There will be a limit to gas burning and polluting cars that can be on London’s roads There will be vast bus, subway, and street car networks All of the city’s public transportation will be electric. Buses and street cars will have solar panels on the top.

Residential and Commercial living Residential and commercial districts will be separated Homeowners who also own gardens and are mostly self sufficient in their food needs will receive tax breaks Public transportation to people’s places of work will be highly encouraged

Areas for wildlife London will have vast interloping networks of protected wildlife areas in the city Most city parks will be wild life friendly There will be bike and pedestrian paths to central city areas with beautiful wild life reserves to encourage walking instead of using an emissions producing vehicle
