TEMPUS APPLICATION ASSESSMENT The experts’ approach

1. GENERALITIES  Assessment procedure: 2 experts/ application, 1 lead expert  Basic advice: read the yearly call and application form carefully.  Seek ballance EU / Third countries  Avoid the « rag-bag » type of project  3 pitfalls: exclusively EU conceived project, exclusively TC conceived project, recycling of old stuff.

2. THE APPLICATION PROPER  Need analysis and rationale  Consortium  Project description  Results and activities  Dissemination and sustainability  Monitoring and evaluation  Supporting material

NEED ANALYSIS AND RATIONALE  Analyse the needs carefully (not assumptions but demonstrable facts): 3 possible layers Country and/or region Country and/or region HE sector HE sector Specific institutions Specific institutions  Argue the relative or absolute innovation  Genesis and preparation of the project

CONSORTIUM  Why these partners?  Specific, complementary competences  Explicit justification of sub-contracted experts or organisations
