Project Purpose Purpose: (1) Building on work completed in Green IT, conduct a systems analysis for the creation of an energy management dashboard for Acadia and (2) Design a functional mock-up Approach: Development in Phases Timeline: –Winter 2011 – Green IT RA/mock-up –Winter SAD –Summer 2012 – First phase implementation (kWh & residences, other features/content)

What are Dashboards? Software programs that track and display the exact amount of energy being consumed in a building at any given time

Why install a dashboard? Next step in energy management at Acadia Education and engagement (e.g. awareness, competitions ) Real-time data helps monitor and manage energy use Helps occupants modify behaviors (e.g. car dashboard)

Project Overview Requirements for data management/display Scope: –electricity use (kWh) –fuel consumption (L) –GHG greenhouse gas emissions (CO 2 e) –Water (L) Integration with Acadia CMS website? Primary features and functions (e.g. energy data, description, competition, green features, tips) Design mock-up Future: secondary features (e.g. app, widgets, social media)
