How do you treat Bulimia?  There are a few ways that may successfully treat bulimia but the patient must know that bulimia may not be fully treated, but if it is, it can take up to 4 years, if the patient cooperates.

The Options: –Support groups, The least expensive approach. –Cognitive Behavioral therapy, which doesn’t respond to support groups. –Drugs, such as antidepressants

How can you diagnose Bulimia? Although these actions are done in private, some tests can be done to help diagnose bulimia, like Chem-20 tests, which shows electrolyte imbalances such as dehydration, and dental exams, which show dental cavities and gum infections. Dentists also check the enamel of your teeth for pits and erosions from excessive exposure to stomach acid.

The Story of The lonely Bulimic Ailene had a tough life. She was always trying to fit in and make friends, but was teased for not having any. She tried everything like new clothes, makeup- but it didn’t get through to anyone. So one day she decided to purge and lose weight. After doing so, she started to make friends. Ailene made a habit of this. Although she seemed happier on the outside, she was depressed on the inside. Months later she changed her wardrobe and only wore baggy clothes. She started to look sick, and fragile. Her teeth started to erode and she was constantly passing out. Soon after that, she died from dehydration and heart failure.
