Watch! A continual exercise (present tense verb) When serious trouble – Rom. 13:11

Stand fast in the faith Στήκω (steko) to continue in your present state. Not retreating or surrendering. In our spiritual warfare we must stand our ground.

Be strong Κραταιόω (krataiou), to have confidence, especially in victory Eph. 3:16, “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,”

Be strong Militarily, the confidence displayed in victory. The motivational speech before the battle (noting the cause, etc.) In our spiritual battle, as we strive and win we gain confidence.

Be strong Rom. 5:3-4 Eph. 6:10, “be strong in the Lord and the power of His might” cf. Phil. 4:13 Yield not to temptation (#111),“each victory will help you some other to win. Fight manfully onward…”
