Vital to All Organizations Human resource management - function of attracting, developing, and retaining enough qualified employees to perform the activities necessary to accomplish organizational objectives. Three main objectives:

Human Resource Responsibilities

Employee Benefits Benefits are available to employees at the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment. Benefits Fair is held in May of each year with a start date of July 1st. Benefits Fair: May 19-21, 2015

Employee Benefits Health Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia POS Access Plan Dental Insurance: MetLife High and Low Option Life Insurance: Lincoln Life - $25,000 Policy Long Term Disability: Lincoln Life These benefits are paid by the City of Tybee Island for the employee at 100%. Dependents can be added to the health and dental for a semi-monthly cost. Extra life and vision insurance can be purchased for employees and dependents as well.

Employee Benefits Retirement/Pension Georgia Municipal Association An employee has to be employed for 1 full year before applying for this benefit. The City of Tybee Island contributes 100%. An employee is not considered fully vested until he/she reaches his/her 10 th year. An employee can be partially vested at 50% on their 5 th year anniversary, 60% on their 6 th year anniversary, etc.

Employee Benefits The following supplemental insurances are offered by the City of Tybee Island: Aflac Boston Mutual Colonial Life Lanierland Insurance Agency, Inc. MetLife Nationwide LegalShield Services Lifestyle Management Resources is our EAP provider.

Employee Benefits Fact Benefit Hourly Rate: $6.06 per hour Based on Salary of $26,993 with WC rate of $3.87. A City of Tybee employee should add another $6.06 per hour for benefits to their current hourly rate. Example: DPW Laborer starts at $12.98 per hour plus benefit rate of $6.06 per hour for a total of $19.04 per hour.

Employee Benefits Other Benefits are:  Holiday Pay 12 holidays per year  Sick Pay 12 days per year  Vacation Pay 6 days for the 1 st year 12 days for the 2 nd – 10 th year 18 days after the 10 th year
