By Joe and Josh.

Would you leave your front door open? Letting strangers see every thing about you by giving away your details online is probably the equivalent of leaving your front door open. Letting people see your personal things including your phone number and name can cause big problems in reality. Problems such as being able to find out personal things about you that you don’t want others to know.

Being safe on social networks On sites such as Facebook and Twitter there are special privacy settings that allow you to only share your details with your friends, although on most of these sites they say you need to be 13 or over, this leads us on to not lying about your age. (we will talk about that on the next slide.)

Telling the truth When making an account online (with your parents permission of course) always remember to tell the truth. If you lie about things like your age it could lead to things that you don’t want to see or hear. So if you are making an account age limits are there for a reason, to protect you. So next time your about to lie, stop and think, all this is for a good reason. To keep you safe on the internet

Online gaming When going online on games with some sort of communicating device it can be dangerous due to swearing and verbal abuse. This can lead to people becoming very upset and making you learn words that you shouldn’t know. On most online gaming sites and social networks have a report abuse button that you click if someone has been mean to you or someone else.

And be safe kids!
