The Challenger The Challenger was a space shuttle which flew 9 successful missions. On January 28 th, 7 crew members set off on a space mission in The Challenger. One thing made the mission unique– it was the start of a new program: TISP or Teachers in Space Program, and was scheduled to carry Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher to fly in space. 73 seconds into the mission, the shuttle exploded, killing the entire crew.

Ronald Reagan: The Great Communicator Ronald Reagan was the 40 th president of the United States, and earned the nickname “the great communicator” His speeches were designed to strike at the heart of a shared, feel-good, American identity.

Ted Koppel of NBC News once said: "Ronald Reagan has this wonderful communicator's ability to convey to the public: 'I know you're smarter about some things than I am, and I know there are some things we both perhaps don't understand as well as we'd like.
