Title of This Poster: Font Arial, 96 pt References Conclusions Name of Presenter Universtiy of Texas at Dallas address You can type over this text with your own. If you copy and paste – remember to change the font and size. This is Arial 24pt. You could also use Arial, Helvetica, or something similar. Keep in mind that going below 14 points will make it hard for people to read. Zoom into to 100% in the VIEW section to see what I will look like. Use one or more well developed paragraphs, which are unified, coherent, concise, and able to stand alone. Avoid using bold and underlined words. What is your essay going to discuss? Why is it important or useful? How are you going to argue your point? Add an image to tell the story Caption – If you did not take this photo, cite your source. 16 point Ariel, you can use italics for captions if you like. Posters tell stories. A research poster explains to the viewer what you did, why you did it and what you learned from doing it. Your poster should include a statement of the problem that you investigated, a description of the research methods you used, and your results or findings (in other words, your conclusion). Click here to insert your Discussion text. Type it in or copy and paste from your Word document or other source. What is your poster going to discuss? Why is it important or useful? How are you going to argue your point? This text box will automatically re-size to your text. To turn off that feature, right click inside this box and go to Format Shape, Text Box, Autofit, and select the “Do Not Autofit” radio button. To change the font style of this text box: Click on the border once to highlight the entire text box, then select a different font or font size that suits you. This text is Ariali 20pt and is easily read up to 3 feet away on a 24x36 poster, and up to 6 feet away on a 48x72 poster. Zoom out to 100% (for 24x36) or 200% (for 48x72) to preview what this will look like on your printed poster. To begin, try writing an outline for your poster as if you were writing a term paper. More visual than verbal? Cluster your ideas in balloons and then link them in order. Your goal is to create a road map that will guide the viewer through your research from start to finish. Be concise. Can you explain something better in a chart? Do so. Try using bullets or a photograph to convey your information. Stay on point and remember to skip the jargon. This is Arial, 20 point and can easily be read from a distance. Illustrations and photographs should be clear and properly proportioned. Use high resolution images (200 dpi or higher); TIFF or GIF images are best. The drop- and-drag method of adjusting an image's width or height can result in distortion. It's better to resize images using commands such as "image size." "scale" or "fit content proportionately." Return to the theme or themes in the introduction. This strategy brings the reader full circle. For example, if you begin by describing a scenario, you can end with the same scenario as proof that your essay is helpful in creating a new understanding. Don’t make sentimental, emotional appeals that are out of character with the rest of an analytical project Don’t begin with an unnecessary, overused phrase such as “in conclusion,” “in summary,” or “in closing.” Add all references here- Calibri 14 point, can go to 11 if needed. Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher. Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of article. Title of Periodical, volume number (issue number), pages. Contact or Acknowledgment For contact: Name, , website, Acknowledgment sample: I would like to thank (project advisor) for his/her encouragement, insight, enthusiasm during this project.
