The Municipality of Prespes The Prespes Municipality is located in the north-west (NW) of Greece, on the borders of Greece, Albania and fYROM 50 km away from Florina & 45 km away from Kastoria Surface area 413,513 ha & 1,570 inhabitants (2011 Census) One of the largest but least populated Municipalities in Greece

WP3: Detailed Energy Audits of Public Buildings On-site measurements and detailed Energy Audits have been carried out (by TEI Western Macedonia) on the selected buildings in Prespes Municipality

Elementary School – Agios Germanos Kindergarten – Agios Germanos Two Selected Buildings in Prespes Municipality: WP4: Energy Efficiency Improvement of Public Buildings

The 3 Studies on the Interventions at the 2 buildings of Prespes Municipality have been delivered The Tender Procedure for the Selection of the Construction Company that will implement the Interventions at the 2 buildings, has been almost completed Signing of the Contract & Commencement of the construction works at the two buildings at Agios Germanos-Prespes: mid July 2014 WP4: Energy Efficiency Improvement of Public Buildings

Establishment of a Regional Information Center on Energy Efficiency Issues, at the premises of the Prespes Municipality, for providing the following types of services: -Information -Consultancy -Educational -Project Development -Technical WP5: Establishment of Info Centers on Energy Issues Detailed Power-Point Presentation Available

The Issuance of Energy Certificates for the buildings of Prespes Municipality  these buildings will become directly exploitable The folder creation for the buildings of Prespes Municipality The almost absolute energy improvement of two municipal buildings with strong social interest Results & Benefits

The maturation of buildings’ energy studies The direct resources saving from the part of Prespes Municipality The completion of a scientific study – a study with no precedent in terms of number of buildings and of an area of high climatic interest as well Results & Benefits

The Production of a Databank on Energy Efficiency International Practices The Development of a Guide on Buildings’ Energy Audit along with Measurements The Sharing of Expertise & Experiences – Exchange of Know How Results & Benefits

The final project’s results will be diffused in the most dynamic way in order to raise the awareness of citizens and authorities will constitute examples in environmental & energy issues for public buildings will form the basis for the improvement of the existing buildings and the designing and construction of future buildings in the region will provide incentives for the reduction of the energy wastage of the country’s public buildings
