-First strategic framework for culture at EU level, affirming central role of culture -Better linkage with EU2020 strategy -Recognition of the role of culture in our relations with the world -3 objectives: cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, culture as a catalyst for creativity and innovation, culture in external relations The European Agenda for Culture
