THE CALL TO WORSHIP [ Pastor / CONGREGATION] Philippians 4:4-8 Rejoice in the Lord always. I WILL SAY IT AGAIN: REJOICE! Let your gentleness be evident to all BECAUSE THE LORD IS NEAR. Do not be anxious about anything, BUT IN EVERYTHING by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD,

And the peace of God, which transcends ALL HUMAN UNDERSTANDING, will guard your hearts AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS. finally, brothers and sisters: WHATEVER IS TRUE, Whatever is noble, WHATEVER IS RIGHT,

whatever is pure, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, whatever is admirable, IF ANYTHING IS EXCELLENT if anything is praiseworthy, KEEP YOUR MINDS ON THESE THINGS.

THE OPENING HYMN ‘JOIN ALL THE GLORIOUS NAMES’ (Please use words on the screen) Tune: Hymn #132 [ All who are able please stand ]

(1) Join all the glorious names Of wisdom, love, and power, That ever mortals knew, That angels ever bore: All are too small to speak His worth, Too poor to set my Savior forth.

(2) Great Prophet of my God, My tongue would bless Your Name, By You the joyful news Of our salvation came, The joyful news of sin forgiv’n Of hell subdued, and peace with Heav’n.

(3) Be now my Counselor, My Pattern, and my Guide, And through this desert land Still keep me near Your side: Nor let my feet e’er run astray Nor rove nor seek the crooked way.

(4) Jesus, my great High Priest, Offered His blood, and died; My guilty conscience seeks No sacrifice beside: His powerful blood did once atone, And now it pleads before the throne.

(5) My dear almighty Lord, My Conqueror and my King, Your scepter and Your sword, Your reigning grace I sing: Yours is the power; behold I sit In willing bonds beneath Your feet.

(6) Now let my soul arise, And tread the tempter down; My Captain leads me forth To conquest and a crown: My treasured soul shall win the day, Though death and hell obstruct the way.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON Psalm 40:1-2 I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the desolate pit, out of the mud and the mire; He set my feet on the solid rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

NOW I BELONG TO JESUS (1a) Jesus, my Lord will love me forever From Him no pow'r of evil can sever He gave His life to ransom my soul Now I belong to Him.

(1b) Now I belong to Jesus Jesus belongs to me Not for the years of time alone But for eternity.

(2a) Once I was lost in sin's degradation Jesus came down to bring me salvation Lifted me up from sorrow and shame Now I belong to Him.

(2b) Now I belong to Jesus Jesus belongs to me Not for the years of time alone But for eternity.

(3a) Joy floods my soul for Jesus has saved me Freed me from sin that long had enslaved me His precious blood, He came to redeem Now I belong to Him.

(3b) Now I belong to Jesus Jesus belongs to me Not for the years of time alone But for eternity.

(1b) Be still, my soul; your best, your heavenly, Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

(2a) Be still, my soul; your God does undertake To guide the future as He has the past. Your hope, your confidence, let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

(2b) Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

(3a) Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart And all is darkened in the vale of tears; Then shall you better know His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe your sorrows and your fears.

(3b) Be still, my soul; your Jesus can repay From His own fullness all He takes away.

(4a) Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on When we shall be forever with the Lord, When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.

(4b) Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past, All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
