Agenda Domain and Guiding Question Objectives and Success Criteria Overview Location and Log In Free Versus Paid Create a Poll Add Poll to Power Point Tips Create a Class Continuing Support

Session Domain and Guiding Question Domain Assessment Guiding Questions What strategies will provide evidence of student learning?

Session Objectives and Success Criteria Objective Teachers will be able to use Poll Everywhere to assess students’ progress – formative or summative. Success Criteria I will be able to: Create a poll Add it to a Power Point

Overview Poll Everywhere mission is to make real time presentations captivating by making them interactive. It is the technology behind the world's first audience response tool for mobile devices. Most importantly, it replaced clickers and keypads. Over 100,000 educators around the world use Poll Everywhere. It is used in a variety of different classrooms settings ranging from kindergarten singing competitions to medial school simulators.

Location and Log In Free Version Click on Sign Up to make a free account

Create a Poll Click on Create Poll A video with a text box will pop up. Type your poll question into the text box, and then click on Create Then you need to pick the type of response you would like back

Open ended: can type anything, and responses can be shown on a wall, cloud, cluster or ticker

Clickable image: allows student to click on pictures. However, if you want several like this one, you will have to combine them into a single image document. Also, there isn’t a texting option.

Multiple choice: allows students to choose one option quickly…this one is from the beginning of the class.

Add Poll to Power Point Most teachers will use this with Power Point because it is easiest for students to see the results. – However, you can add it to or Outlook calendar appointment also. You will need to install the PollEv Presenter App (and then restart your computer) for this function to work. Once you have installed the App you will see a new tab in the Power Point ribbon. If your computer is re-imaged over the summer, you will need to do this again.

Add Poll to Power Point Continued Decide how you want students to respond – website only or are texting okay with you? *** For younger students: consider providing the links (Web devices or private link) on a single document so they can click and respond. Make sure to publish the polls by clicking this button…if you don’t the poll won’t work.

Add Poll to Power Point Continued Now click on Download Poll Slide A new Power Point document will pop up You can copy this slide and paste it into your Power Point presentation. *** You will not see the poll until you put your presentation into Slide Show mode.

Tips The poll will start right away, but if it doesn’t click on Stop/Start Poll. You can delete the results so you can use it again for the next class You can also edit the question without having to start over. You will not be able to change the type of poll though.

Your Turn Create a free account Create at least one poll Add the Poll Everywhere ribbon to Power Point Publish the poll in Power Point

Create a Class in Paid Version Allows you to see individual student answers – Record for formative/summative assessment Need to create Participants’ accounts (attachment) and Groups – Makes sure to label carefully if it a school account.
