National Strategic Plan To be released January 1, 2016 Identifies internal/external goals for Includes input from senior Air Force and CAP leaders, as well as CAP members nationwide Approved by the BoG

PA’s Proposed Goals Developed by your National PA Team Emphasizes:  Implementing Branding Master Plan and Resource Guide  Partnering with Recruitment and Retention to reach key audiences  Using high profile events to build brand awareness  Building brand awareness through digital & social channels  Promoting Total Force  Establishing solid network of PAOs  Establishing large pool of well-trained PIOs

10 Reasons to Plan  To specify a vision  To solidify your mission  To outline what you want to accomplish  To describe your ideal event  To articulate what makes you different  To provide a road map for achieving your goals  To help you focus on what is important  To create an action plan for what you need to do and when  To track your progress  To remind you that this is your job and not a hobby

How to Write a Basic Plan  Shout out to Maj Brenda Reed, MER PAO & Capt. Riccardo Zuppelli, Nevada Wing PAO for creating a PA planning template for all PAOs!  Posted in PAO Toolkit under “Planning Template”  Provides 14 suggested goals based on CAPR that can be used by any PAO to jumpstart planning

Goals for all PAOs  Have an active, trained PAO  Progress through Specialty Track  Create an annual PA Plan  Evaluate goals’ effectiveness annually  Recruit a cadet for cadet PAO position  Increase external public awareness  Establish/maintain/monitor a squadron website  Produce short video for YouTube  Increase internal awareness of squadron activities  Establish squadron newsletter  Use social media to increase awareness  Embrace NHQ’s branding initiatives  Promote recruitment by holding open house  Keep higher headquarters updated

Where’s the Fun in Planning?  Don’t be scared!  Goals are ideas, not requirements!  PA Plan is a flexible, living document that is adaptable  Unmet goals do not represent failure, only a change in priorities  Adapt and Overcome!  What are your goals?
