So You Are Now A Manager! Now that you have been promoted to "Manager" what lies around the corner? This course centers on the major challenges of managing in the new competitive landscape; explains how the functions of management are evolving in today's business environment; and defines the skills you will need to be effective. Performance Management Performance Management emphasizes that you must learn to "inspect what you expect" effectively to have your team achieve goals and to meet expectations. This course will include the complete lifecycle from setting goals, coaching and mentoring, to completing the annual performance appraisal discussion. Takeaways for this session include templates that can be tailored to fit any size business. Management Coaching Would it not be great to have each of your employees perform daily in their "sweet spot"? This course covers the basics on taking your employees to the next level with step-by-step guidelines in coaching and follow-up. Don't be satisfied with just getting the job done..."Get it done RIGHT the first TIME!" Motivation and Teamwork The concept of a team and motivation are by no means a new ones. But in today's increasingly complex business environment more and more companies are turning to the use of teams. Thus, it is essential for manager to have a practical understanding of how teams are organized, how they are developed, how they work, and how to transfer motivation from a mindset into regular daily actions focused on results. Dealing with Difficult (“Toxic”) People You will run into "difficult" people by the end of the first week of becoming a new manager. This course covers the scope from those persons who display behavior problems to those who need professional help via employee assistance. Learning how to deal with these situations without getting wrapped up in the moment is a true skill all managers navigate. Contents

Innovation and Change This course will cover how to encourage people to embrace change, adapt with it; and then understand it so it can help them be successful in the future. This includes diving into insights in dealing with people, processes, and technology. Communications We all began our education journey by learning to read and speak...how many of us have had “listening" training? This class covers the gambit from common pitfalls and traps w all fall prey to the techniques and tools that will increase our effectiveness as a manager. Leadership The success of your company rises and falls on its "leadership." How firm is your foundation? This course addresses the skills necessary to effectively lead people. The session introduces the power of vision, clear mission and expectations, to dealing with the diverse workplace we have in today's workplace. Conducting Effective Meetings Meetings, meetings, and more meetings...the art of effective and efficient meetings is CRITICAL to success! Ever wonder why your 15 minute meeting bleeds to an hour? This course will review the basic tips of conducting a meeting AND provide you with a set of useable tools to document, to track and to monitor agreed to actions from the meeting. Human Resources (HR) 101 Most new managers come from those who performed the best in their technical field. This class provides an entry level survey of HR so the new manager won't stub his/her toe in the first month of their new job! Covered in this course are recruiting, hiring, firing, coaching and recognition of employees and an overview of the basic laws that influence HR management. Workplace Accountability Workplace Accountability is one of the hottest managerial subjects at present. Author and accountability expert Linda Galindo explains, “ Whether you admit it or not, you are accountable for everything you ’ re involved with, whether it turns our good or bad. The outcome belongs to everyone who touched the project, not just the ones who made the mistakes. ” This course will introduce a model to tackle accountability and also conclude with over 20 tools that a new manager can choose from to implement upon leaving the training event.
