Request to Task Force members: Identify, based on your own experiences and expertise, areas/topics within the EU Health Information and Knowledge System that need further development in the (near) future Task Force on Major and Chronic Diseases

Why? Input in SANCO work plan 2008 (and possibly for later plans) Network of Working Party Leaders (NWPL) decided during last meeting to adopt a Strand-wide, structured approach: All Working Parties have been asked to carry out this exercise. Their contributions will be discussed during NWPL meeting in July coherent summary document will be offered to SANCO Task Force on Major and Chronic Diseases

Suggestions TFMCD so far: pilot study to assess feasibility of population-based registers of: –acute myocardial infarction/acute coronary syndrome –stroke (with possibility to distinguish between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke) identification of standardized diagnostic criteria for detecting heart failure in the general population (questionnaire for HIS and measurements for HES) Development of European certification for cancer registries Task Force on Major and Chronic Diseases
