Provides students with multiples opportunities to read and write Engages students in meaningful experiences Allows for collaboration to aid in reading comprehension Supports improvement in reading comprehension, language, social, and writing development Facilitates problem solving through exploration, discoveries, and creations

Have I supported guided reading instruction by TAKING IT TO THE TEXT? Is it engaging and motivating? What is the purpose of the center? Do I have the required resources? Have I modeled the center? Are the directions explicit? Does each center include reading and writing activities? Are the activities accommodating students on all levels? Are multiple opportunities for collaboration provided?
