Boston University Geneva Program (S. Goldfarb) BU Office of International Programs – Contributes Organization, Resources, Selects Students – Half of all Juniors at BU participate in Study Abroad programs Geneva Physics Program: Studies & Research – QM I and EM II Courses Offered by University of Geneva – ROOT and C++ Courses Offered at CERN or on Campus – Projects Solicited Through BU Programs on LHC – Around 5-6 Students 14/28 expressed interest Half could not participate because of required electives A few more could not for financial reasons (work/study) Further Discussions – Meeting planned in coming week with Larry Sulak

Proposed Strategy for Initiative (H. Neal) Launch Study – Identify all parameters requiring attention for a long range strategic solution; spell out topics requiring further analysis, make initial cost estimates, identify consortia, lay out roadmap Plan Pilot Program – starting in Fall 2010; Council should determine scope and implementation plans. Experience with Pilot should inform plans for larger program
