Today YWBAT… 1. Explain the role of the Agricultural Science Teacher in successful Supervised Agricultural Experience programs.

Teacher Responsibilities Provide classroom instruction about SAE’s Help identify SAE opportunities for students Promote accurate record keeping

Teacher Responsibilities Visit and supervise SAE programs Educate school administrators and employers about SAE programs Encourage students to have SAE’s

Instruction about SAE’s Correlate classroom instruction with SAE programs (include non-traditional SAE’s) Teach a 3-5 day unit during the first month of school to all incoming students Have students list how they, personally, will benefit from having an SAE

Identify SAE Opportunities Contact local agribusiness/ranch employers about opportunities for your students

Record Keeping Schedule time in each class for students to update their record books Communicate this with students EARLY so they can come prepared

Visit and Supervise Visit students regularly to check on progress (remember – this is part of your job!) Keep good records from your visits
