The data is decrypted and routed to the appropriate server within FedEx. The response is then encrypted and sent back. API: Application Programming Interface It is a technical solution that allows the integration of the FedEx systems for shipping, tracking, or other functions into a customer's software application (e.g. integrate API's into an eCommerce catalogue).

FedExNet eCommerce Solutions FedExNetSM FedEx’s own private value added network EDI-based Business-to-business data exchange Shipping, tracking and invoicing data EDI allows the exchange of digital data between computers. It is not a special software, but merely a method for electronically exchanging data. FedExNet is our private value added network that customers can connect to in order to upload or download their shipping, tracking or invoicing data in a reliable and secure way. To get FedExNet: Customers must ship at least 10 pcks/day. A CTS/ACTI should confirm that this is the best solution for the customer.
