LEASED LINE Network diagram

Definition: A leased line is a service contract between a provider and a customer, whereby the provider agrees to deliver a symmetric telecommunications line connecting two or more locations in exchange for a monthly rent (hence the term lease). Symmetric telecommunications line: any system in which data speed or quantity is the same in both directions (full duplex) Provider in Malaysia: TM, Celcom, Time

Attributes -Permanent point to point connections (link two connections together) -Dedicated/private line -Always on,uncontended symmetric data -Fixed monthly charges -Quality of Services guaranteed -Can be used for data, video and voice -Can span short/long distances

Ways to connect Leased Lines

Costing for Leased Line by TM

Advantages Leased Lines are Available at Higher Speeds No Slow-Down at Peak Times Faster Uploads More Reliable Business-Class Support Conclusion Leased lines cost a lot more than ADSL connections, but for that extra money you get a dedicated, reliable connection with good support, SLAs and a faster upload speed. You’re paying for quality.
