Workshop: Land Cover/Land Use Data model commonalties. HLANDATA project user’s perspective Pilot 3: Stratification of waste dumps Veronika Koskova, SEA

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO Current situation in the field of waste dumps visualisation  Waste management data are currently collected, processed and managed by several national organizations on different management level based on their competence area, respective management needs and requirements as well as according to the respective legal frame. no complex, integrated database of waste dumps for whole area of Slovakia, covering all waste dumps categories

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO Current situation in the field of waste dumps visualisation Existing data sets are partial, incompatible and processed on different platforms. Various waste dumps categories are collected by different organizations, though the most important fact is the absence of integrated geodatabse of waste dumps that could support effective waste management, waste treatment and disposal.

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO Who are the users?  Content providers:  Slovak Environmental Agency  Centre of waste management  Ministry of Environment  Slovak Environmental Inspectorate  Regional government bodies  Municipalities  Public users

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO The main user needs  Prediction of different scenarios of waste production  Support objective decision making process in frame of waste management  Implement optimal cost/benefit analysis, time analysis in the waste management and planning  Simple visualisation of up-to-date waste management spatial information

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO How to obtain that?  To create a complex integrated database of Slovak waste dumps interconnected with geospatial visualisation of waste dumps using different spatial information:  Land cover/land use  Settlements  Population  Waste production  etc.

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO How to obtain that?  To developed an interactive standalone online web portal that will allow users to view up-to-date details about different categories of waste dumps in Slovakia, focused on spatial representation  To integrate different information about the waste dumps from different sources and offer this information on “one click of the button”

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO  To ensure required user needs Pilot 3 will be developed as:  interactive standalone online web portal that will be the entering gate for all categories of users  Interactive online map application that will be the part of web portal

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO Functionalities - interactive standalone online web portal Standalone online web portal will allow following functionalities for the users:  Document download  Discussion board/forms  Register/Request for registration  Sing in

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO Functionalities - interactive online map application  Interactive online map application will serve following functionalities:  Layer visualization  Visualization of the layers to different scales  Surface and distance measuring tools  Search and localization tool  Overlay tool  Spatial “query” type

INSPIRE Conference Edinburgh, 27 th June 2011 CIP-ICT PSP GEO The main functionalities  Advanced Editing function  Editing of points:  Editing of polygons:  Map service import  Additional/Optional functions  Picture upload  Buffer  Select polygon  Export to file
