Hookworms By: Meredith and Cymirra

Questions How many people are infected with hookworms in the U.S.? Who is most at risks for getting hookworms? How do people get hookworms? Where are hookworms found in the world? What damage do hookworms cause?

Answers 1.3 billion people in the U.S. are infected with hookworms. Puppies and kids are most at risk for getting hookworms. Many people get hookworms by walking on soil with bare feet that is contaminated with hookworms.

Answers Hookworms are commonly found all over the world but are mostly found in areas with warm humid climates. Hookworms live in intestines, suck blood, and cause serious diseases.

Hookworms If pregnant women are infected by hookworms then the baby will most likely be born prematurely. To prevent getting hookworms wear shoes ALL the time and if you have hookworms eat garlic. Garlic is anti-fungal and anti- bacterial and will help you get rid of hookworms.
